Federation Age

Many records were lost after the collapse of the first human civilization about ten thousand years ago, and in the Dark Ages that followed. But it is known that they had a wide variety of leadership systems they called politic, and that the greatest authority of that time rested in the hands of a core alliance of semi-independent powers who called themselves the Federation.

Also not known is how the Federation won the cataclysmic war against the second known exoentity invasion into Population I space so quickly, in perhaps less than a few hundred years. But historians speculate that defeating the gods came at an unimaginable price—which, together with war devastations and human infighting, led to the end of the Federation Age.
